Years ago, Chandell became famous after he played a concert at the White House, marvelling the world with his skill at the piano. What nobody knew was that just before the concert, he had hurt his fingers in his piano lid, and had to resort to using a mechanical player piano to save face. The only person who knew was his twin brother Harry, who at the time ran a piano roll factory and supplied Chandell with the roll he needed.
Since then, Harry has been blackmailing Chandell into committing crimes and giving him almost all of the loot. A true criminal genius, Chandell has never even been suspected of being anything more than a musical genius.
Weapons and Equipment
- Radio transmitter- kept inside his criminal piano, allows him to set off explosions by hitting certain keys during a concert, leaving him with a perfect alibi.
- Bagpipes- used by Doe, put people to sleep when a certain awful sound is played.
Just as Batman and Robin do not go at crime-fighting alone, Gotham City's most notorious villains need fellow partners in crime to assist them with their malicious schemes.
Harry- Chandell's evil twin brother, forces him to commit crimes in exchange for not revealing to the world his act of symphonic swindling.
Doe, Rae, Mimi- his beautiful assistants, they dress up in different costumes to suit the music he is playing.
Nasty piano movers- Harry's sinister but silent henchmen.
To some people villainy is a job; but, unlike the rest of the law-abiding citizens of Gotham
City, villains do not work in an office, factory, or from their own homes. They must establish
a 'hideout' from which they can organize and orchestrate their evil deeds.
- the bankrupt Parnassus Music Roll Co.
- his apartment atop Gotham Towers
